Islay is located off the west coast of Scotland and is the southern most island of the Inner Hebrides. Typical features of Islay are the stunning landscape, the wildlife, the easy pace of life, the friendly people and the fact that the island has eight world famous whisky distilleries. Islay's neighbours are the Isles of Jura to the north-east and Colonsay to the north-west. A ferry journey of two hours takes the visitor from Kennacraig, mainland Argyll, to Port Askaig Islay.
